Loans for People on Benefits: Check City Pay Day Loans Review

Do Check City offer loans to people on benefits? This detailed review which will look at every aspect of this payday loan company will reveal whether you can take out a loan while on benefits, we will look at the rates offered by the company and any other special feature that they offer. We will also take a detailed look at whether they offer same day loans and whether or not they have a commitment to charging no fees.

Check City offers payday loans to people who need money to tie them over till the next pay day. The claim on the landing page of their website is that they offer a fast and convenient way to apply for a loan which is surprisingly affordable. You can apply for the loan online or through one of their stores distributed across the USA. Some of the features that they mention include fast approval process, more convenient payment options and a cheaper alternative to conventional payday loans.

You can borrow up to $2500 and their currently available in Utah and Colorado. Check City boast about how they are different from other pay day loan companies claiming they have superior customer service, they offer a one stop solution to cashing a check, getting a loan or refinancing a family home.

Unfortunately there is a lot of ambiguity when you want to find out what their rates and charges are as they are different for different States; this is one of the drawbacks to this site as it’s really hard to pinpoint exactly how much you’re going to be charged.
Check City also offer to give you the loan amount as soon as the next day once your request is approved, all you have to do is complete the online form with some basic information and wait for approval. The due date of the loan is a few days after you’re paid your wage or salary.

If you’re on benefits you can still apply for the loan, you need to have a minimum income of $1000 which is coming in regularly; you also need to show proof of any welfare benefits that you’re getting. Unfortunately Check City Pay Day loan is closed for service if you’re unemployed and low income families and individuals must show a household income of $1000 or more to qualify.

Check City is a direct payday lender and licensed in each state that it operates, you can complete a one-time new customer loan application and then use the details to borrow money at your convenience. You can apply online, over the phone or in store and if your application is approved you can get the money electronically deposited via an ACH transaction (Automated Clearing House Transaction).

The approval process is not very long and if you submit your loan request before 7pm mountain time on weekdays or 8pm on Saturdays the approval process should be completed on the same day you apply. The only drawback is finding out how much the loan is going to cost, there is no online facility which really helps and you either need to call them up or check online which is complicated bearing in mind there are different rates for different states.

Check City will not renew the loan if you’re unable to pay when it’s due and this is when charges will incur. You can also prepay the balance on the loan before the payday, if you decide that you don’t want the loan within 24 hours of being approved you could rescind your loan at no extra charge.

In my opinion Check City have a pretty large set up and boast about their excellent customer service and fast approval process. The disappointing fact about this company is that they don’t even consider unemployed people even if they have assets, if you’re disabled and on benefits you could apply but you need to show that you’re earning at least $1000 per month in benefits.

The lowest level of income that they lend is $400 and if you’re on benefits then this rises to $1000 which is really annoying. The verdict for this company is that it’s nothing special, it does offer loans to people on benefits but it has many caveats and hoops that you need to jump through. Unemployed people are ruled out completely and there is ambiguity surrounding their loan rates and charges which is hard to find on their website. Before you do decide to take out a loan you need to know exactly what the charges and rates are.

Finally Check City offer other products that may be of interest, they offer installment loans, title loans, gold buying, money transfer, insurance, mortgage and a tax service.
